Antalis Packaging was invited to tender for the company’s entire packaging business, along with the incumbent and another potential supplier.
Before preparing a response to the tender, Antalis Packaging’s South East Team asked to carry out a packaging audit to gain a deeper understanding of the current packing processes and look at where they could add value by way of alternative products, machinery and service. This initial conversation and tour of the operation highlighted a significant issue that needed to be addressed immediately; The packing of individual make-up items for distribution to their biggest customer QVC was time consuming, costly and packages were badly presented.
Following the initial audit, Antalis Packaging’s South East Team and dedicated in-the-box packaging expert created a two-part solution to help the customer overcome their issues;
1. Geami WrapPak – an eco-friendly alternative to bubble wrap, offering effective protection while greatly enhancing the presentation of the product.It’sjust a cardboard packaging box…right.jpg
2. Crash lock self seal boxes – with the box being quicker and easier to assemble than a standard box, packing times would be significantly reduced and money saved by eradicating the need for tape.
Both solutions were presented to key decision makers and packing staff. A full pack cost analysis was also prepared to show the potential savings of the new solution v.s. their current system which utilised paper void-fill and 0201 boxes. The customer was very pleased with the solution and following acceptance from QVC decided to introduce three Geami WrapPak machines.
