The Systems team visited the customer to assess their issue and qualify what equipment was needed. This highlighted the Lantech SL2500 Automatic Stretch Wrapper as the best solution for the customer. To assess the suitability of the new Pallet Wrapper, a Lantech Q300 was demonstrated on the customers site and left there for a week. In addition visits were also arranged to existing customer sites to see their Lantech SL2500 pallet wrapper in action.
Alongside the demonstrations, the team also carried out a film audit and film trials to ensure the best stretch-film/machine combination was selected. The audit provided the customer with extremely accurate information regarding existing and ongoing cost savings and packaging waste reduction.
After installation, the customer experienced superior load containment and a 70% reduction in the cost of stretch-film used to wrap the pallet. The SL2500 also increased wrapping speeds to 65 pallets per hour and significantly improved the quality, aesthetics and containment of the wrapped pallet. Changing the film also reduced packaging waste by 70%.
To help the client fund the purchase of the new machine, Antalis Packaging gave them the option to absorb the cost in to stretch films sales over 36 months at an agreed tonnage. The reduction in film costs fully funded this payment route, with the customer still experiencing cost savings. At the end of the 36 months, the title of the system was transferred to the customer. The customers was so happy with the solution they purchased another Lantech SL2500 9 months later.
